I strongly prefer computers that use little power and make little noise. The hard drive that came with my laptop (IBM T20)is loud. Maybe that's because it is so old. Anyway I recently bought a 2.5" PATA flash drive for my laptop. It is, of course, completely silent and it uses less power than the hard drive. I much prefer flash drives to hard drives.
