Due to political factors outside my control, the economy is really bad. Today I had lunch with one of my many unemployed engineer/programmer friends. He is smart, disciplined, hard working, honest, pleasant, and skilled. But he he can't find a job in the NYC area doing programming. So he is now open to any kind of work. Anything. The situation is somewhat depressing.
