Yesterday some one gave me a Sky Computing SkyStation. It is an i860-based external coprocessor that interfaces with a Sun workstation using SCSI. It comes with development tools (f77, ld, as, etc...) I think the idea is that you develop your code in the Sun box and then when you run your program it passes over SCSI with the input data and then when it finishes, the output is passed back to the Sun box over the SCSI connection. I haven't tried it out yet but I will. As a sysadmin in a university setting, my work load goes in cycles. Right now I am very busy since it is the beginning of the semester.
