Washington Deluxe Bus Company

At one point Washington Deluxe was my preferred bus company. I took their busses dozens of times back and forth between New York and Washington, DC. There are other companies other than Washington Deluxe that do the NYC to DC route, but I felt that Washington Deluxe was less chaotic. They have a reservation system and their website guarantees you a seat if you are at the bus stop 15 minutes early. Unfortunately, they screwed up a couple of months ago and it has been all downhill since then. I got to the bus stop half an hour early, and waited in line with my reservation. When the bus arrived, there were already a lot of people on the bus. The driver said that he could only take another few people, not the twenty or so people with reservations. So he took a few people and the rest of us were left on the corner. No effort was made to provide alternative transportation for us. It was completely irresponsible of Washington Deluxe. Their next bus was the next day. I had plans in New York so I had to take Amtrak, which is expensive on weekends. I wrote a letter to Washington Deluxe telling them what happened and asking them what they plan to do about it. They ignored my email. Then, recently, they started spamming me with promotional emails. For years they honored the fact that I unchecked the little box on the reservation form that says "I want to receive promotional emails." But now it seems they have lost any and all loyalty to their cutomers. Is the company under new sleazy management? I do not recommend using Washington Deluxe. Be careful. If you give them your real email address they will add you to a spam list. Here is a sample of the spam they sent me today:
